It took over a year from the time I sent in the application form until the final was broadcast on the television.  This is when things happened:

Filming starts at Maidstone Studios in Kent
16 July First round - Red kitchen

24 July Semi-Final - Yellow kitchen
Judges were: Michel Roux and 
Competitors were: Margo Keating and Vanessa Guiver
28 July The Final - Blue kitchen
Judges were: Gordon Ramsay and Patrick Litchfield
Competitors were: Larry McGarry and Janine Lishman-Peat

7 June Jayne's birthday dinner at Green Street Seafood Cafe - 18 people
12 June Cooked 'Auction of Promises' dinner
6 July Louis Jadot gourmet evening at Harveys restaurant Bristol. The chef was Daniel Galmiche - one of the judges at the cookoff.
11 July Bristol 2 Bridges Food festival
1 August Final of Junior MasterChef -won by Dominique Fraser from Kent.
7 August Ragley Hall Fireworks and Laser concert - kind invitation from Simon Evetts of Hatch Mansfield & Taittanger Champagne.
13 August Michael Paul came and took photographs for NZ House & Garden magazine.
Helen, Jonathon, Sheena & Tim came around to try out a couple of the dishes for the St Catherines Court evening.  We had:
  • Braised shoulder of lamb with pumpkin & sage rissotto, grilled courgettes and lamb jus
  • Hot chocolate & beetroot pudding.
The verdict - excellent!  And we found out about Jonathon's addiction to liquorice?!

11th September St Catherine's Charity Dinner Concert

Dinner and piano concert with Nicola & Alexandra Bibby.  I did the cooking for 110 people (with lots of help of course).  It was held at St Catherines Court (Jane Seymour's house near Bath) and was in aid of the Meningitis Research Foundation.

Altogether we raised about £3500 !!

29th October Visit to Charlie Trotters restaurant - Chicago.  We stayed at The Homewood Suites Hotel which was brillant.
31st October My birthday!!
26th November Mum & Dad arrive from New Zealand
4th December BBC Masterchef filming of biography for Masterchef 2000
And the kitchen was finished with 15 mins to spare!!

23rd February Childs Gastromonic Dinner at Harveys restaurant in Bristol.  I'll be cooking my peanut butter mousse.CANCELLED
4th March Childrens Cooking Party for Joanna, at our place.
4th March Dinner for Royal High School raffle winner
